Nestled in the heart of Bovey Tracey, on the edge of Dartmoor, you will find Courtenay House at the top end of Fore Street.
Bovey Tracey is an ancient town full of character, renowned for its traditional cob and granite buildings. Visit the small, unique, independent shops, restaurants and cafes and have fun at the House of Marbles.
The Devon Guild of Craftsmen is a craft centre famous for inspiring exhibitions and events, with original, top quality hand-made art and craft for sale. The Guild cafe offers delicious local food and rooftop seating with glorious views across the town.
Bovey Tracey is an ideal centre for exploring beautiful South Devon. A short drive along peaceful Devon lanes brings you to the heights of wild Dartmoor with its wide vistas and spectacular tors.
Whether you’re out for a day’s strenuous hike or just a short relaxing stroll, the footpaths along the banks of the River Bovey are a lovely place to start. You will soon find yourself wandering in the lovely grounds of Parke – National Trust gardens, woodlands and riverside meadows.
Discover the picturesque villages of Widecombe-in-the-Moor and Lustleigh, the bustling seaside towns of Torquay and Dawlish and the ‘ancient and modern’ cathedral city of Exeter, with its fascinating mix of shops, galleries, theatres, historic sites and varied nightlife.
If you’d like to spend a day by the sea, the long sandy beaches of Teignmouth or Dawlish Warren are just a short drive away.
From here, you can enjoy all the popular holiday destinations of the English Riviera and discover picturesque coves, fishing hamlets along the South coast.

In June, a three day event packed with activities for all to enjoy. From vintage Craft Cinema, storytellers, puppet shows, workshops and crafts to try, to live music, great food stalls and the Pottery Showdown, plus much more – it’s a great day out – or three!
August – join in with our colourful annual carnival – Summer fun for everyone!
‘Nourish’ – Bovey Tracey’s festival of music, craft and food – returns in September.
Fore Street will be brimming with great quality produce from all over the south-west. Taste mouth-watering street food, listen to live music and get involved with craft events at the Devon Guild and elsewhere.
Christmas Lights Switch-On – the first Saturday of December at 4pm.
Join in with the fun count down to the Christmas Tree lights being switched on! The main Fore Street is closed with a various array of local stalls. The event is opened by children from the local primary school singing carols, hymns and Christmas songs.
